An ode to Fathers (Especially Mine)

dadToday is Father’s day; A very special day to tell your dad “Thanks for everything!” I’m not exactly sure where or when Father’s Day started ( I could probably Google it), but because of dad’s like mine, I can surely guess why.

My Dad (I don’t think I’ve ever actually called him “father”) is a great man! He’s fun, funny, supportive, outgoing, outspoken (sometimes a little too much), a hard worker, a family man, a great husband and so many more adjectives that I could list, but I don’t have all day. (although I’m sure he’ll let me know which ones I forgot to list, ha ha).

As the saying goes “I am my father’s son” and that describes me to a tee. I have him to thank for all of my good qualities, morals and values that I have and he’s also who I curse at for all of my bad ones, but I wouldn’t change any of them because it’s who we are.

My dad has supported me in everything I’ve done my entire life, good or bad, and I want to make sure that he knows that without him, I’d not be who I am today. He’s who I aspire to be and if I’m half the father he was/is (if I ever have kids that is, ha ha), I know I’ll be a great dad one day.

Enjoy your golf game today, old man. I love ya!
