Annapolis County RCMP arrested a 22-year-old Middleton woman in connection with the recent thefts from vehicles and car fires in Nictaux.

On October 20th, 2014, two vehicles on Pit Road were damaged when someone lit the interior on fire.

Luckily these fires burned themselves out and the damage was confined to the interior only. The same morning, two other vehicles were lit on fire on Highway 201. In this case, the vehicles, which were parked in a driveway, were totally destroyed. This fire also caused damage to a nearby shed as well as to the siding of the adjacent residence. The Nictaux Fire Department responded to both incidents and extinguished the fires.

Subsequent investigation allowed RCMP to identify a suspect. On October 24th at approximately 3 p.m., a woman was arrested at a residence on Gates Ave without incident. The accused is facing two counts of Arson, two counts of Mischief, two counts of Trespassing at Night and two counts of Breaching Court conditions. She was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Digby Provincial Court on Monday, October 27, 2014 for a bail hearing.
