Annapolis County RCMP investigate two-vehicle collision, Paradise, N.S.

Annapolis County RCMP is investigating a collision that occurred on Highway 1 earlier this afternoon.

At approximately 12 p.m., Annapolis County RCMP and EHS responded to a two-vehicle collision in Paradise.

An Annapolis County RCMP vehicle collided with a Honda Accord traveling eastbound on Highway 1. Preliminary investigation revealed that the marked police vehicle was exiting a driveway with emergency lights activated to apprehend a violator when it was struck on the driver side.

The 40-year-old Annapolis County officer was alone in his vehicle when the collision occurred. Both the officer and four occupants of the Honda were assessed by EHS at the scene of the collision. No one was transported to hospital.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and a Traffic Analyst is assisting with the investigation. The matter is still under investigation.
