Antigonish County RCMP are investigating the sudden death of a woman in Auld's Cove. At approximately 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 27th, Antigonish County RCMP were requested to conduct a well-being check at a residence on highway 104 in Auld's Cove.

At approximately 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 27th, Antigonish County RCMP were requested to conduct a well-being check at a residence on highway 104 in Auld’s Cove.

Upon arrival at the home, the RCMP found 68-year-old Janet Burton deceased.

An autopsy was completed yesterday in Halifax and foul play cannot be ruled out at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

Police are interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen anything suspicious, had contact with the deceased or noticed activity around her home located at 13048 highway 104 in Auld’s Cove between Thanksgiving weekend and Sunday October 27th.

The investigation is continuing.
