Antigonish RCMP investigate fatal motor vehicle collision, Afton, N.S.

Antigonish RCMP is investigating a fatal collision that occurred last evening. At approximately 10:45 last evening, RCMP, Emergency Health Services (EHS) and the fire department responded to a single vehicle rollover collision that occurred on Highway 4 in Afton.

At approximately 10:45 last evening, RCMP, Emergency Health Services (EHS) and the fire department responded to a single vehicle rollover collision that occurred on Highway 4 in Afton.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the female driver of a Chevrolet Uplander was traveling westbound when she lost control of her vehicle and rolled into the ditch. The driver, 61, from Afton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A collision analyst was called to the scene to assist with the investigation. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time. The investigation is continuing.
