RCMP in Enfield are investigating an armed robbery.
At approximately 4:20 p.m. today, RCMP received a complaint that an armed robbery had been attempted at the Kennetcook Pharmacy. Officers responded and learned that a masked man entered the pharmacy with a metal pipe and passed a note to the clerk demanding narcotics.
The pharmacist confronted the suspect and was physically struck by the suspect, who then fled on foot. The pharmacist did not require medical treatment.
No items were obtained from the pharmacy during the attempted robbery.
Based on information gathered at the scene, officers have identified the suspect. The investigation is ongoing with assistance from RCMP Police Dog Services.
