The individuals who were arrested will be released later today. Everyone arrested will be facing one count each of obstruction and some are facing additional charges under the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to obey the direction of a peace officer and failing to use the sidewalk.
The area of Hollis Street and Terminal Road has been cleared, but a group of 20 to 30 protestors have now made their way to police headquarters located at 1975 Gottingen Street. Police will remain on scene to minimize disruptions and promote public safety while the group remains in the area.
We remind the public that while we respect the right to peacefully protest, enforcement actions will be taken as necessary to ensure public safety.
