Art workshops and new Waldorf playgroup

Just a quick note on this sunny Friday (woo hoo!) about two programs open for registration:

Sharkey's and Engle Art Studio in Bedford are running art workshops throughout the summer. The next one for children two years and up is on Monday and Tuesday from 10:30-11am, and there are still a few spaces available. Children and parents will play with shapes, sponges, and different size brushes and explore the world of colour. If you can't make this one, they will be running another on August 31 and Sept 1. The two-day workshops (30 minutes each) cost $30 per child. To book, call 406-7074. (They also have other workshops for children six years and up – please contact them for details.)

When Alex was a toddler we attended the Waldorf playgroup at the Shambhala School and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it ended, but now parents in the East Chezzetcook area can enjoy something similar! Buttercup Play School, a Waldorf inspired parent child group, is for children one to three years old. Sessions include imaginative free play with natural and wooden toys, outdoor walks and play, healthy organic snacks, craft activities, circle time songs, and story-telling. The playgroup will be held on Wednesdays at 9-11am from September 9th. Cost is $45 for 6 weeks and registration is required. Call Anastasia at 281-2150 to book or for more information. Enrollment per group is limited to seven children and accompanying parent, grandparent or caregiver.

Here's hoping for more sun this weekend – enjoy!
