August In Nova Scotia

If I had to sum up August in Nova Scotia in just one blog post, this would be it.

Tonight was such a treat because I didn’t have to cook!  This Hodge Podge was made using green & yellow beans, carrots & peas from my own garden.  I believe the potatoes were fresh too.   From what I can tell, the veggies were cooked in cream and maybe some butter. Simple and absolutely delicious!

Included with the Hodge Podge were a few more treats. Saving the vino for another time but happily broke open the cheese & baguette.

All together.

Crusty bread rocks my world!  It was perfect for dipping in the Hodge Podge.

Sprinkled with a bit of fresh ground pepper. Yes, this was as good as it looks! I must ask for the recipe.

Dessert was a little bowl of fresh valley blueberries. Perfection.

I’m pleasantly full.   Loved coming home and not having to worry about Supper.  Big thanks to the cook! 🙂

Last night we headed down the shore to take a walk on my favourite trail.

It was a beautiful summer evening.  Lots of sunshine still!

Ice cream was in the plan.  Choco & PB?  Yes, please! A small hoof prints

I have not been buying ice cream or froyo because its too much of a trigger food.  Instead, we’ve occasionally been making stops for ice cream cones. They always seem to taste that much better.

Dean saw me tweeting about our walk and he and Holly decided to join us.

Life is good!

We walked for over an hour and 15 mins.  5-6KM.  Wish I had brought MariLynn, it was such a nice night. I believe the last time I brought you along, it was December.  The scenery is a bit different right now. 😉

Still one of my most favourite places in the world.
