Baddeck RCMP net significant drug seizure, Baddeck, N.S.

Baddeck RCMP seized cocaine and marijuana during a traffic stop yesterday.

On February 18th, 2015, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Baddeck RCMP stopped a pick-up truck heading east on Highway 105 after suspecting the driver may be impaired.

During the stop, the officer made observations which led to a drug investigation.

The lone occupant, a 29-year-old male from Lower Sackville, was arrested for drug trafficking. Approximately a kilogram of cocaine and 12 pounds marijuana were seized from the vehicle along with some cash. The investigation determined the driver was not impaired.

The man was held in custody and is appearing in Sydney Provincial court later today. He is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purposes of Trafficking and Possession of Marijuana for the Purposes of Trafficking. The investigation is continuing.
