RCMP investigate fatal motor vehicle collision, Beaver Bank, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Beaver Bank Rd. On Wednesday, February 18th at approximately 5:30 p.m., Halifax District RCMP, Halifax Fire and Emergency and Emergency Health Services responded to a two vehicle collision in the 800 block of Beaver Bank Road.

Halifax District RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Beaver Bank Rd.

On Wednesday, February 18th at approximately 5:30 p.m., Halifax District RCMP, Halifax Fire and Emergency and Emergency Health Services responded to a two vehicle collision in the 800 block of Beaver Bank Road.

Preliminary investigation determined a 72-year-old Beaver Bank man driving a Honda Fit may have experienced a medical issue just prior to the collision. The Honda Fit, while travelling on Beaver Bank Road, crossed into the on-coming lane and collided with a Ford F-150 pick-up truck. The driver of the Honda Fit was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. A 71-year-old female passenger of the Honda Fit was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The four occupants of the Ford truck were not injured.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is continuing. An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst is assisting with the investigation.
