Barricaded Wanted Man Situation Ends Peacefully

Halifax Regional Police has arrested a man following a barricaded person situation in Dartmouth yesterday.

Yesterday afternoon, RCMP attended 79 Lakecrest Drive to arrest a 19-year-old man wanted on a warrant. Through additional investigation, officers believed the man was inside a unit within the apartment building and may have been in possession of a firearm. As a result, HRP crisis negotiators and members of the HRP Emergency Response Team attended the scene in an effort to bring the situation to a peaceful conclusion.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. the man exited the apartment and was taken into custody without incident. The investigation into this matter continues and the original issue regarding the warrant will be handled by the RCMP.
