BBW Beach Glow gel lotion

Bath and Body Works Signature Collection was on big sale the day I went to the store, plus a coupon. Were you thinking what I was thinking? Time to shop!

I got a few staples and 2 new products that I am going to show you today and tomorrow.

This Beach Glow gel lotion definitely caught my eyes. Not that I need any more tan on the skin but glow I do look for this season.

Infused with nourishing coconut oil and soothing aloe, the product is described as a lightweight lotion to smooth over skin for a subtle kiss of color and fragrance.

Standard tube packaging with a flip top, which works for the lotion/ light gel texture.

The Honolulu Sun scent is pretty much a tropical beach heaven for me. A good balanced mix of coconut, palm, citrus and ocean air (top notes) and coconut milk, nectars and passionfruit (mid notes). There are also driftwood and white sand musk (dry notes) which I don’t detect much.

On the first squeeze of the tube, I panicked. It is very bronze and very shimmery with small glitter particles. Like I said, I was looking for a glow, not a tan.

Luckily, as you see below, the colour sheers out nicely (left) and leaves only a very light shade on the skin (right) once rubbed in. However, the glitters, despite not being very visible in the shot, are quite intense and stick to the skin (only come off in the shower).

In a nut shell, Beach Glow is a glittery tinted illuminator that should only be used at the beach to show off certain strategic parts of your body – tip of the shoulders, straight down the upper arms and lower legs where the light hits. I am not sure I want to use it on the face, even strategically.

The brand suggests to let the product dry on the skin before dressing. Because of the sheer finish, I don’t have a problem with colour transferring onto clothes or bed sheets.

The tube is 5.6oz/ 165ml, regularly $16.50 but I paid $3 for it.
