Bedford and Burnside shootings may be connected: Police investigating

Police are continuing to investigate a shooting that occurred earlier this week.

On June 22, at approximately 11 p.m., police responded to the area of Duke Street in Bedford near Damascus Road and Highway 102 in relation to a man who had been shot while inside a vehicle.

A 34-year-old-man was transported to hospital for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries from gunshot wounds.

Yesterday, officers received a report of a damaged vehicle in a parking lot of a business in the 0-100 block of Wright Avenue in Dartmouth. Haliburton Avenue was closed to traffic for a short time to allow officers to collect evidence. Through the investigation it was determined that the vehicle had been struck as a result of shots fired in the area.

The investigations are in the early stages; however, investigators believe that the scene on Wright Avenue may be related to the call reported in Bedford.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incidents or video from the areas to call 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or using the P3 Tips App.
