Here is an opportunity to help Bedford get ready for Bedford Days! Councillor Tim Outhit is looking for volunteers to pitch in and clean up our beautiful community. Supplies will be provided by HRM and Clean Nova Scotia.

Bedford Days Community Georgian Tea – 2 p.m.

Time: 2-4 p.m.
A Georgian Tea will be held at the historic Scott Manor House. Town crier, Stewart MacMillan, will make the proclamation with a performance by harpist Georgia Atkin and the Clan Farquharson Pipe and Drum Band. Meet the members of the local Jane Austen Society of North America and check out a photography exhibit of Bedford artist Lewis Turner.

All ages! Dress up and join us at the Bedford Public Library for a Halloween Party featuring puppets, stories and more. It’s sure to be a ghostly good time! Free tickets will be given out 15 minutes before the party.

Kid’s Extravaganza – 5 p.m.
Location: DeWolf Park
5 p.m. – 9 p.m.: Glow Parties Bouncy Castles
Arrive before 7 p.m. and beat the line-ups for the Glow Parties Playground Extravaganza.
7 p.m. – 9 p.m.: Children’s Entertainment by Razzmatazz Children’s entertainment and a great show by Razzmatazz will provide loads of fun. Don’t miss out on your chance to take part in a meet and greet with the Wonder Pets! Theodore Too will also be making an appearance, thanks to WDCL (shine only). Don’t forget to stick around for fireworks at the end of the night!

Pancake Breakfast – 8:30 a.m.

What better way to start Canada Day off than by coming down to DeWolf Park for a free pancake breakfast provided by the wonderful staff of the Sunnyside Too Restaurant. There will be pancakes for everyone while quantities last.

Teddy Bear Picnic – 11 a.m.

11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Teddy Bears deserve their own fun too. Bring your favourite stuffed buddy to a picnic in their honour. Bearametic will be there to make sure your bears are fit and healthy. There will also be children’s entertainment, face painting, and more for you and your teddy bear to enjoy! The Wonder Pets! will also make an appearance! Hot dogs will be served while quantities last.

Glow Parties Bouncy Castles – 1 p.m.
Location: DeWolf Park
1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Amusements on site include: The Rockwall & Bungee Combo, 4-in-1 Midway on Wheels, Various inflatables (obstacles, bouncers, interactive) and fun foods. Various amusements will be operational on different days.

Come join us on Canada Day for the season opening of Scott Manor House and Tea Room.
Meet at 1 p.m. for an easy 1 mile guided walk through historic Bedford. From 2 p.m.-4 p.m. enjoy the opening exhibit of “Dartmouth Heritage Matters” featuring beautiful displays of traditional rug hooking along with demonstrations.

Perfect Pairings – Harvest Wines & Spirits and Clearwater Seafoods – 2 p.m.

Join us for all things seafood and spirits as we celebrate Bedford Days! Harvest Wines & Spirits and Clearwater Seafoods are teaming up to provide perfect pairings of seafood along with our wines, spirits and beers. Bedford Days Canada Day Celebrations! – 6 p.m.

Triathlon Nova Scotia sponsors The Kids of Steel Triathlon for children ages 4 yrs to 15 yrs old. The event is a fun race (non competitive but we also have a few competitive races) to introduce children to the sport of triathlon. The event is made up of three parts: first a swim in the pool, then a bike ride and then a run. The distances for each portion of the event are set to the ages of the participant (the older the participant the longer the distances).

Bedford 5k Run to Beat Lung Cancer – 9 a.m.

Join Basinview as we are hosting our 1st ever “Look like your pooch contest!”! You and your pooch can dress up to look alike or just maybe you’ve been told that you do resemble your pooch. alFresco Film in the Park – “Despicable Me” – 9:30 p.m.

9:30 p.m.–11 p.m.
Bring your lawn chair and blanket to DeWolf Park to eat popcorn and enjoy the film “Despicable Me” (Rated PG) on the big screen under the stars. Presented in partnership with alfresco Film Festival.

Lost Kids Tent
There will be a Lost Kids tent at Bedford Days for parents looking for missing children. The tent will be near the stage, marked with a flashing amber light. A Bedford Days committee member will be inside to tent to assist parents and children.
