Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents there will be sporadic traffic delays on the Bedford Highway near Larry Uteck Boulevard for the next three months to facilitate blasting operations related to a private development in the area.
Traffic will be stopped in both directions several times a day at or near the civic address 660 Bedford Hwy. starting Monday, Feb. 1, and continuing until the end of April. There will be no stoppages during peak traffic hours (7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.).
This approach is required to ensure public safety, as the blasting operations will be in close proximity to the existing roadway. Motorists should expect short delays when traffic needs to be stopped. Those who travel regularly through that area may want to consider alternative routes for the duration of this work.
There will be further disruptions to traffic flow in this area as the development project progresses. More information will be shared with the public as it becomes available. The municipality regrets any inconvenience this work or the delays may cause; however, residents are reminded that this is to ensure public safety.
