Break and Enter, Robbery with a Weapon Incident

  At 4:30 pm east members responded to the area of 0-100 block of Princeton Lane in Dartmouth to a report of an 81 year old male being robbed and having his 2010 Buick Lacrosse stolen.

 

At 4:30 pm east members responded to the area of 0-100 block of Princeton Lane in Dartmouth to a report of an 81 year old male being robbed and having his 2010 Buick Lacrosse stolen.
Investigators learned that 2 black males in their late teens knocked on the victims’ door and entered his residence.  Once inside the shorter male remained at the door while the taller male pointed a small silver hand gun at the victim and forced him to the basement.  He then demanded the victims vehicle keys and pushed him to the floor. The suspect went through the victims pockets retrieving the vehicle keys.  Both males fled the residence taking the victim vehicle which was last observed heading down Eisner St. towards Portland St.  The victim received minor injuries as a result of being pushed to the floor.  Members of the Integrated General Investigation Section (GIS) continue to investigate this incident.
 
Suspect’s description: 1 black male, late teens, 5’8”, white sneakers, red/white shirt, red/white shorts, white shoes, clean cut.
2nd black male, late teens, 5’11”, dark clothing, athletic build, white shoes, silver gun in his right hand.
 
Vehicle: N.S Veteran’s plate ADG84, Black 2010 Buick Lacrosse. Small crack in the rear driver’s side tail light with scuff marks below.

Stolen Motor Vehicle Recovered
 
The vehicle stolen in a break and enter/robbery yesterday has been recovered.
 
Yesterday afternoon at 4:30 p.m., police responded to the 0-100 block of Princeton Lane in Dartmouth to a report of a robbery and theft of a motor vehicle in progress. An 81-year-old man was forced to his basement at gun point by two suspects who demanded the keys to the victim’s vehicle.
This morning at 7:30 a.m., Cole Harbour RCMP recovered the stolen motor vehicle in the 100 block of Whynder Lake Road in North Preston. Currently the Forensic Identification Unit is processing the vehicle for evidence at Halifax Regional Police headquarters.
 
The suspects have not been located at this time and the matter remains under investigation.

Update to robbery, theft of vehicle and Break and enter file involving a 81 yr. old male. GO 12-104270:
 
On July 19, 2012 a search warrant was executed and five males were arrested for the above noted incident. As a result of this and further investigation, four of these males are facing charges in relation to this incident. The charges are as follows:
 
– a 15 year old male is facing charges of break and enter, possession of stolen property, weapons offences and numerous violations of court orders. This male is currently in custody and will appear in Dartmouth court on Monday, July 22, 2012
 
– a 15 year old male is facing charges of robbery, break and enter, possession of stolen property, weapons offences and violation of a court order. This male is currently in police custody and will appear in Dartmouth court on Monday, July 22, 2012.
 
– a 16 year old male is facing charges of break and enter and possession of stolen property. He is currently in police custody and will be appearing in court on Monday, July 22, 2012.
 
– a 16 year old male is facing charges of break and enter and possession of stolen property. This male has been released and will be appearing in Dartmouth court at a later date.
 
The 18 year old male who was also initially arrested has been released without charges at this time.
