Break-Ins At Halifax Grammar School, J.L. Ilsley

Halifax Police responded to an alarm call at the Halifax Grammar School at 8am Sunday.
As the officers were enroute, a citizen called to report a suspicious male in their back yard in the 5500 block of Blue Willow Crt which is a short distance away from the school. The citizen followed the suspicious male to Tobin St where he identified the suspect. The 37 year old male was taken into custody and when he was searched the officers located a laptop computer under his sweatshirt which had been stolen from the Halifax Grammar School. When officers checked the school they found an unlocked door.
The suspect is being charged with break and enter, possession of break and enter instruments, and breach of probation times three as he is on three separate probation orders.
He is being held for Halifax Court on Monday.
At 1:15 AM Sunday, members of West Division patrol responded to an alarm call at JL Ilsley High School located at 38 Sylvia Avenue in Halifax. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers located an insecure door, and as a result containment was immediately set up around the building. The first responding officers located a bike near the door and believed a suspect may have been inside the school.  As they entered to search the building, a suspect bolted from another door and was immediately taken into custody by containment officers.
A 17 year old male youth from the Dartmouth area will be facing break & enter and theft charges. He is being held and will appear in Halifax Youth Court Today.
