Bus service suspended due to severe weather conditions

Friday, Jan.

3, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Metro Transit customers are advised that due to severe weather conditions bus service is suspended until further notice.

Weather conditions are expected to continue to deteriorate, with snow continuing to fall until at least 5 p.m., and visibility will be restricted until at least 6 p.m.

Buses without passengers will be returning to the garage while buses with passengers have been instructed to continue on their routes until all passengers have reached their destinations, and then return to the garage.

Ferry service is not affected at this time.

Metro Transit will assess the situation again at 5 p.m. and buses will return to service as road conditions improve.

A public service announcement will be distributed when bus service resumes.

Motorists are urged to drive with care and reduce speeds due to the rapidly changing conditions.

HRM apologizes for this inconvenience and thanks customers for their patience.
