Canada Day Shooting Ruled a Homicide

On July 1, 2020  at approximately 10:43 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of possible shots fired in the 6300 block of Cork Street in Halifax.

Officers arrived on scene and located a man with gunshot injuries outside of a residence, a deceased adult male inside of a residence and an adult female with injuries. Investigators believe the three people are known to one another.

Based on today’s autopsy, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service has ruled the death a homicide and confirmed the male victim as 40 year old Trevor Charles Miller of Halifax. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time. 

The investigation, led by the Homicide Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division and including Forensic Identification officers, is ongoing and officers still remain on scene.

The other male and female victims are still being treated for their injuries.
