Car Flees Scene after Car / Pedestrian Accident

At around 120 am Central Division officers responded to call of a vehicle striking a pedestrian in the area of Barrington Street and Salter Street.  Investigation to this point has revealed a silver Ford Escape struck the female while she was in the street.  The driver of the vehicle then sped away from the scene without stopping.

The 29 year old female was treated by EHS at the scene and subsequently transported to the QE2 for further care of her non-life threatening injuries.  The file is still under investigation at this time and officers are still searching for the vehicle and its operator.
