Charges after weekend brawl on Grafton Street

Police have charged a man in relation to a disturbance that occurred in Halifax on the weekend.

On August 27 at approximately 11:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a number of people who were involved in a physical confrontation in the 1700 block of Grafton Street. The physical confrontation had ended prior to police arriving on scene. Officers located an injured man who was taken to hospital for treatment of what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

A 22-year-old man was arrested in the area and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Assault
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death
  • Causing a disturbance

The matter remains under investigation and police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call police at 902-490-5020.
