Some Chevrolet and Buick Models Recalled for Airbag That May Inflate Unexpectedly

Transport Canada issued recall 2023693 for General Motors vehicles, specifically the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze and Buick Verano. This recall was updated on January 2, 2024. The recall addresses an issue with the vehicle’s airbag. On certain vehicles, the side curtain airbag inflator could rupture at the inflator weld joint, causing the airbag to inflate without a crash. General Motors will contact owners by mail, advising them to take their vehicle to a dealership for the replacement of the left and/or right-side curtain airbag(s).
