The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that the section of Quinpool Road closed for the rehabilitation of a CN bridge in the area is expected to reopen to traffic on Monday, July 29 at 5 a.m.

A rain date of Tuesday, July 30 has been scheduled, if needed. An additional public service announcement will be issued if weather becomes an issue.

The section of Quinpool Road was closed to traffic on April 1 to complete rehabilitation, repairs, and safety improvements to the aging CN bridge. The municipality and CN collaborated throughout the project to ensure the required work was completed in a safe and timely manner. Throughout the entire project, efforts remained focused on minimizing the inconvenience for residents and commuters by communicating details of the marked detour, encouraging alternative forms of transportation, reminding the public that businesses on Quinpool Road remained open throughout the project, as well as creating a section of free, unrestricted parking spaces along a portion of the closed road. It is important to note these parking spaces will go back to normal when the bridge officially reopens to traffic on Monday.

Your patience is appreciated during the final stages of this work.
