On July 24, investigators in the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division conducted a search of an address in Halifax after receiving information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre that suspected child pornography had been uploaded from an IP address associated to Halifax. Investigators, with the assistance of members of the Digital Forensic Unit, seized a number of electronic devices for forensic analysis.

On July 25, investigators in the ICE and Vice Units arrested a man without incident at an address in Halifax.

Nicholas Robert Siteman, 22, of Halifax, was charged with one count each of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography. He appeared in Halifax Provincial Court yesterday.

Police remind citizens that it is mandatory in Nova Scotia to report suspected child pornography. Police ask anyone with information on child pornography to file a report by calling police at 902-490-5020or by using Cybertip, Canada’s National Tip Line for reporting online sexual exploitation of children, at www.cybertip.ca.
