Thursday, June 30, 2016 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents and motorists that Cogswell Street, from North Park Street to Robie Street, will be closed to traffic on Canada Day, Friday, July 1.
The street closure will be in place from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., and is required to accommodate Canada Day festivities taking place on the Halifax Common. Special event signage has been posted along the street to advise of the impending street closure.
Motorists are also advised to expect rolling street closures in downtown Halifax to facilitate the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo Parade, which gets underway at 10:30 a.m. along the following route: departing the Scotiabank Centre; proceeding west on Duke Street; south on Brunswick Street; west on Spring Garden Road; north on Summer Street; east on Sackville Street; north on Brunswick Street, concluding at Scotiabank Centre.
Streets will re-open on a rolling basis once the parade has passed.
