Colchester County RCMP investigate fatal crash, North River, N.S.

Colchester County RCMP are investigating a single vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 22-year-old man. At approximately 1:45 a.m. this morning, RCMP, Emergency Health Services, North River Fire and Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal responded to a report of crash on Highway 311 in North River.

At approximately 1:45 a.m. this morning, RCMP, Emergency Health Services, North River Fire and Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal responded to a report of crash on Highway 311 in North River.

Preliminary investigation determined the driver who was coming from Brule failed to negotiate a sharp turn and left the roadway. The Truro man and lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Light rain was falling at the time of the crash.

An RCMP traffic analyst is assisting investigators and the cause of the crash is under investigation. The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
