RCMP refer matter to Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT), Meat Cove, N.S.

Ingonish RCMP have contacted the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) regarding an injury that occurred to a woman's arm during an arrest for a weapons investigation.

Ingonish RCMP have contacted the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) regarding an injury that occurred to a woman’s arm during an arrest for a weapons investigation.

At approximately 11:10 a.m., RCMP attended a Meat Cove residence to arrest a 57-year-old woman in regards to a complaint of pointing a firearm. During the arrest of the woman a struggle ensued during which the woman suffered an injury to her arm.
She was transported to hospital by Emergency Health Services for treatment.

The investigation into the weapons complaint is ongoing.

The RCMP has referred this incident to the Nova Scotia Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) who have taken over the investigation. Given the matter is now being investigated by SIRT, the RCMP is unable to discuss further details about the arrest.
