Colchester County RCMP investigate Greenfield collision, Greenfield, N.S.

Colchester County RCMP are investigating a serious two-vehicle collision that sent one person to hospital. Last evening at approximately 10 p.m., RCMP, EHS, and Salmon River Fire responded to a 911 call reporting a serious collision between a car and a truck on the Greenfield Road.

Colchester County RCMP are investigating a serious two-vehicle collision that sent one person to hospital.

Last evening at approximately 10 p.m., RCMP, EHS, and Salmon River Fire responded to a 911 call reporting a serious collision between a car and a truck on the Greenfield Road.

Preliminary investigation determined that the collision occurred between the car and the truck but it is too early to know exactly how it happened. The 22-year-old lone male driver of the car was transported to the Colchester East Hants Health Center with serious injuries; he was later transported to the QEII Hospital in Halifax. The 44-year-old lone male driver of the truck was not hurt. He was arrested at the scene for Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm. The male, from Bible Hill, remains in police custody.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of a Collision Analyst from RCMP Northern Traffic Services. Greenfield Road was closed for several hours but has now re-opened. The investigation is continuing.
