Colchester County RCMP are currently investigating a suspicious death in Truro Heights.

At approximately 3:30 a.m. this morning, RCMP received a 911 call which led police to an apartment on Mitchell Drive.

Upon arrival at scene, RCMP found a 47-year-old woman deceased. RCMP Northeast Nova Major Crimes are at the residence and are in the early stages of the investigation.

RCMP are also currently at a scene in the Portapique area where a male, who may have been in the house at the time of the incident, has barricaded himself inside a vehicle. RCMP have this area contained.
