Woman faces charges as result of fatal collision, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), N.S.

RCMP have laid charges after a fatal collision investigation in Lawrencetown.

The Halifax RCMP Criminal Crash Investigation Team (CCIT) has charged a female driver with eight Criminal Code charges including Impaired Driving Causing Death, Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death.

Kayla MacLellan, 20-years-old from Lake Echo, will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.

These charges result from an investigation after Mark Burnett, 55, died in a fatal collision on July 10th, 2013. At 5:52 a.m., RCMP received a call of a two car collision near Lawrencetown Beach. A SUV collided head on with a car resulting in serious injuries. Two female occupants of the car were ejected from the vehicle. The male driver of the other vehicle was also injured and later died as a result of his injuries. All three people were transported to hospital in Halifax.
