Collision results in arrest of impaired driver

Halifax District RCMP arrested an impaired driver on Highway 102 yesterday afternoon following a motor vehicle collision.

Just after 4 p.m. RCMP located a 2005 Honda Civic on its side in the southbound lane. The driver lost control which resulted in the vehicle rolling before coming to rest on the driver’s side. As a result, he was trapped in the vehicle and suffered minor injuries.

The driver, a 33-year-old man from Elmsdale, is now facing charges for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operating Over the Legal Limit. He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on June 6 at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is continuing.
