The Prospect Road community did a great job celebrating one of its newest members first birthday, last Saturday. Our Community Centre deserved to be celebrated, as it has truly helped to enhance our sense of community and oneness.

The staff and volunteers worked to make it an enjoyable and memorable event for everyone who attended.

The kids were able to enjoy, a bouncing castle, face painting and an inflatable bungee run. There was no shortage of sweets with tables overflowing of backed goods and the lions club did a great job manning the barbeque. Everyone was treated to live music by a local band and was enjoyed by all. Many had the chance to take in some of our local talent, who presented us with crafts, photography and yummy baked creations.

Throughout the celebrations the crowds were introduced to various programs offered by the Prospect Road Community Centre. Children and youth dance classes charmed the crowd with their well rehearsed dance moves and the taekwondo students added a kick to the show by easily chopping threw thick planks of wood. Everyone watching could feel the energy created by the Zumba instructor and her energetic class volunteers.

Thanks to everyone who offered their time and talent. The community centre’s staff wants to thank everyone who had taken the time to celebrate an important birthday with your community!
