A community safety meeting was held tonight at City Church on Herring Cove Road. It was basically a meet and greet for all service providers in Spryfield, but there was a particular emphasis on services that try to reduce or prevent crime.

The local councillor Steve Adams was there, as well as the MLA Brendan Maguire and the head of the local business commission.

Here are a few of the providers who were at the meeting:
Halifax police victim services support:
Avalon Sexual Assault Centre:
COSA Halifax, reintegration services for high risk sexual offenders:
211, a phone service to help people navigate all kinds of government and private services:
Guard a Kid, a identification tool kit for children in case they go missing
Chebucto Connections, a Spryfield development agency:
Pathways to Freedom, a Christian-based service for inmates who need to re-integrate into society
Sorry to anybody I’ve missed! Here are a few pictures from the event.
