Road Construction – St. Margaret's Bay Road

(Thursday, August 19, 2010) – Commencing today, August 19. there will be road construction taking place during the hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on St. Margaret's  Bay Road, from Douglas to North West Arm Drive.  During this time there will be stop and go traffic.  Motorists should expect delays and are requested to find alternate routes if possible.

 

Blasting – North Dartmouth Trunk Sewer Project

(Thursday, August 19, 2010) – On Friday, August 20, blasting operations will begin to complete rock excavation at North Dartmouth Trunk Sewer project, on the west side of  Hwy 118 beginning at Wright Avenue to the Highway 107 Bypass/Burnside Ramp from  Hwy 118.   ACL Construction Ltd has obtained a permit to carry out the blasting. Blasting will take place during the hours of 9:00 am to 11:00 am and 1:30pm to 3:30 pm.

During the time that blasting is taking place, Police will be in place to hold traffic.

All requirements outlined in the blasting by-law have been met in order to have a permit issued for this project. Seismographs will be set up on structures in the area to monitor vibration and sound levels to ensure they do not exceed allowable limits set out in HRM's blasting by-law..

Motorists should expect delays and are requested to find alternate routes.
