Crime of the week – theft of heating oil, Dartmouth, N.S.

Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers and Cumberland District RCMP are asking for the public’s help in solving a series of thefts of home heating oil which occurred between March 9 and 24, 2015.

Preliminary investigation determined that heating oil was stolen from a number of home oil tanks in Advocate Harbour sometime during the second week of March. It is believed these crimes occurred overnight while homeowners slept. The total dollar value of the stolen oil is over $2,000.
