Halifax District RCMP investigates theft from super mailboxes, Tantallon, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP is investigating several incidents of theft from super mailboxes in Tantallon, Timberlea and Hubley over the weekend.

Preliminary investigation determined unknown person(s) forced their way into several mailboxes located in a number of areas within Tantallon RCMP’s patrol area.

In all cases, criminals used prying tools to break into the boxes and steal the contents of those containing parcels. The areas affected are: Deerwood Lane at Grebe Ave, Timberlea, Big Hubley Lake Rd. in Hubley and Rockcliffe Cres. at Pinetree Cress., Hammonds Plains. These crimes are believed to have occurred sometime overnight Thursday, October 1 into Friday, October 2, 2015.

Investigators are asking anyone who has any information concerning these incidents to contact them at 902-244-7208 or any RCMP office, Halifax Regional Police or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS ( 8477 ), texting TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637) or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca . Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash reward from $50 – $2000.
