Cumberland County RCMP is investigating a single vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 50-year-old man.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., Cumberland County RCMP, Emergency Health Services and the Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of crash on a back road off Hwy 209 in Advocate Harbour.

Preliminary investigation determined the driver failed to negotiate a sharp turn and left the roadway. The Parrsboro man and lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

An RCMP traffic analyst is assisting investigators and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
