Middleton RCMP investigate assault and stabbing incident, Middleton, N.S.

Annapolis County RCMP is investigating an assault and stabbing incident that occurred at a Middleton residence earlier today. At approximately 11:45 a.m., Annapolis County and Kingston RCMP along with Emergency Health Services responded to a 911 call about a stabbing.

At approximately 11:45 a.m., Annapolis County and Kingston RCMP along with Emergency Health Services responded to a 911 call about a stabbing.

Preliminary investigation determined that a 49-year-old man had been stabbed. Further investigation determined that the woman had received injuries and was taken to the Kentville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The man was airlifted to the QEII Hospital in Halifax with serious injuries.

The Southwest Nova Major Crimes unit is assisting with the investigation. Investigators are trying to determine the sequence of events that led to this incident. The investigation is continuing.
