Police have charged a Halifax man with child pornography-related offences.
On October 29, investigators in the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division conducted a search of a residence in Dartmouth after receiving information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC) that a person from Halifax had been downloading explicit images of children online. Investigators seized a number of electronic devices for forensic analysis.
Investigators in the ICE and Vice Units arrested a man at the residence without incident.
A 38-year-old Dartmouth man has been charged with one count each of distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
Police ask anyone with information on child pornography to file a report by calling police at 902-490-5020 or by using Cybertip, Canada’s National Tip Line for reporting online sexual exploitation of children, at www.cybertip.ca.
