20191205_131451

Common name: DaVinci Bailey Bassinet model number #M0934

Product description: The DaVinci Bailey Bassinet is a wooden infant bassinet which measures approximately 37.9″ x 20.1″ x 30″ and weighs approximately 21 lbs.  The bassinet is made of New Zealand pine and MDF and is sold with an included 1″ waterproof cradle pad.  The bassinet converts to a toy storage box by removing the x-cross legs.

The following products are included in the recall:
Colour Model UPC code
Grey M0934G 048517826577
Espresso M0934E 048517826591
Natural M0934N 048517826850
White M0934W 048517826584

Hazard identified: If the bassinet is moved across the floor with enough friction or shaken with significant pressure, the lateral forces may cause the wooden legs to break at or near the attachment point where the legs are screwed into the supporting cross beam.  If a leg of the bassinet were to break with an occupant inside, the bassinet could present a fall hazard.

As of December 3rd 2019, the company has received zero reports of injuries in Canada or the United States. In the United States, the company has received 19 incidents where the bassinet’s legs broke.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product, remove and dispose of the legs.  Consumers will be provided with a free repair kit with instructions on removing the current legs and assembling the new support legs to the bassinet. Consumers may continue to safely use the principal enclosure as a storage bin or toy box by simply removing the legs.

For more information, consumers may contact DaVinci toll-free at (838) 932-0208 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Pacific Time, Monday to Friday, by email or can initiate a free repair kit online.
