Police have charged four people after recovering 10 stolen recreational vehicles valued at $40,000.

On November 24, 2019, Cumberland District RCMP began investigating the theft of a side-by-side vehicle. On November 26, the Cumberland County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU), with the assistance of additional officers from Amherst Police and Cumberland District RCMP, searched a home on Erncliffe St. in Amherst. There were several people in the home at the time. One man was arrested without incident. The search led to the recovery of the side-by-side and other stolen property including five ATVs, three motor cross bikes, a flat deck trailer, licence plates and a welder.

Also as part of the investigation SCEU, with assistance from New Brunswick RCMP and Amherst Police, searched a home on Old Fort Rd. in Aulac, New Brunswick on November 28 and arrested one man without incident. Officers recovered items used in the initial theft of a side-by–side and another ATV that had been previously reported stolen.

Four people have been charged following the searches:

Brittany Anne Davidson, 31, of Amherst, has been charged with three counts of Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000 and two counts of Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000.

Albert Charles Jr. Oblenis, 33, of Amherst, has been charged with three counts of Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000, two counts of Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 and Theft of Motor Vehicle.

William Edward James Landry, 31, of Aulac, has been charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle.

Christopher Todd Larade, 34, of Moncton, has been charged with six counts of Breach of Recognizance.

Larade is scheduled to appear in Amherst Provincial Court on January 13, 2020 and the other accused are scheduled to appear in Amherst Provincial Court on January 20.

The investigations are ongoing and led by Cumberland County SCEU and Amherst Police Major Crime Unit.
