HRP release:

Halifax Regional Police are on scene of a stabbing in Dartmouth.

At approximately 1:15 p.m., police responded to an altercation between two individuals in the 200 block of Portland Street. Officers arrived on scene and located a man who had been stabbed. He was transported to hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

Portland Street from Maitland Street to Albert Street is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic at this time.

The investigation is in the early stages, and further information will be provided when it becomes available.
