The Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture is looking into reports of debris from an aquaculture site on St. Marys Bay, Digby Co.

Department staff have contacted the operator and confirmed there are no fish at the site.

“Staff are checking into the reports to determine what steps might be needed,” said Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister Keith Colwell. “As soon as we know more, we will update the public.

“We take our commitment to transparency in regulating aquaculture seriously.”
