Bernie Miller has been appointed deputy minister of Planning and Priorities.
Mr. Miller has served as CEO and managing partner at McInnes Cooper for the past seven years. He has practised law with McInnes Cooper since 1989, where he specialized in environmental and aboriginal law in the energy and natural resources sector.
“Mr. Miller’s private sector experience will be an important asset as he assumes a key, strategic position within government,” said Premier Stephen McNeil. “His proven ability to articulate a strategic vision, establish a clear plan of action and deliver results will serve government as we develop the policies and plans necessary to fulfill the mandate given to us by the people of Nova Scotia.”
Mr. Miller graduated from Dalhousie University in 1988 and was admitted to the Nova Scotia bar in 1989.
The appointment is effective Feb. 17.
