Two men arrested following a motor vehicle collision

Police have arrested two men following a motor vehicle collision that occurred earlier this morning in Halifax.

At 5:48 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Lynch Street and Duffus Street after a report of that a vehicle hit the curb. Officers were on scene quickly and determined that the occupants of the vehicle had fled on foot and located a can of sensory irritant inside the vehicle. A K-9 unit tracked the occupants to a nearby residence where they were arrested without incidents. The K-9 unit also located a handgun outside the residence during the track for the occupants of the vehicle.
 
An 18-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, both from Halifax, are currently in police custody and being questioned in relation to this incident. The matter remains under investigation and charges are anticipated.
