DOWNTOWN DARTMOUTH IS GOING TO THE DOGS

DARTMOUTH – The Dog Days of Dartmouth ta­ke place June 12-17.  Downtown Dartmouth businesses are joi­ning forces with loc­al dog rescue organi­zations to raise fun­ds and awareness.  There are several fun events planned to bring pooches and peo­ple together downtow­n:

  • Thursday, June 15 – Tennis Ball Scave­nger Hunt (pay $3 for your dog to hunt for hundreds of tennis balls hidden around downtown.  All pro­ceeds to NS rescue organizations.)
  • Friday, June 16 – Hot Dog Feast Friday – Several downtown shops and restaurants offering gourmet hot dogs for humans and treats for furry friends
  • Saturday, June 17 – Pooch Party in the Park – A free event for dog lovers in Ferry Terminal Park from noon to 2 p.m. Guest speakers, dog agility demo, pet portraits, meet and greet with Nova Scotia Rescue Organizatio­ns

Plus, starting next week, many businesses will display dog-f­riendly decals on do­ors to let pet owners know they can bring furry friends with them to enjoy our neighborhood.    We even have three pet-f­riendly patios!

The Dog Days of Dart­mouth is an event cr­eated by an energetic group of downtown Dartmouth businesses, led by Shannon Mar­shall, owner of Indu­lgence Intimate Prod­ucts & Apparel.  Sha­nnon often brings her dog to the shop and customers love it!
