The RCMP has arrested a woman in relation to a fatal collision on Hwy. 12 on November 2. The 24-year-old woman from Lunenburg County was arrested November 3 on the following charges:

She was released from custody later in the day on November 3 on conditions, which include not occupying the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle and not being in the care and control of a motor vehicle. The accused is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on December 18.​

The collision occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on November 2 on Hwy. 12 in the community of Aldersville, when​ the driver of a Chrysler sedan​ was attempting to pass other vehicles​ and struck an oncoming Volkswagen.

The passenger in the Volkswagen died at the scene and the driver of that vehicle was airlifted to hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Chrysler was taken to hospital with injuries. She was alone in the vehicle.
