Driver of a vehicle involved in a collision resulting in a pedestrian being struck in a crosswalk voluntarily came forward to police

In response to a media release disseminated on November 30, 2017 requesting information leading to the identification of the driver of a vehicle involved in a motor vehicle collision resulting in a pedestrian being struck in a crosswalk, the driver of the vehicle voluntarily came forward and contacted police on December 1, 2017.

After a police investigation, which included speaking to the driver, a 66-year-old Halifax man was issued a Summary Offence Ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Police would like to thank the driver for coming forward and doing the right thing
