Driver suffers life-threatening injuries in single vehicle collision

This morning at approximately 12:30 a.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a single vehicle crash near 1520 East Chezzetcook Road. A preliminary investigation determined that a northbound Pontiac Sunfire caught the road shoulder and over-corrected. This caused the vehicle to drive off the road and roll over.

The 19-year-old male driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, suffering life-threatening injuries. An 18-year-old female passenger was wearing her seatbelt and incurred non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
